Bokashi and Worm Composting (Vermicomposting) Workshop

Bokashi and Worm Composting (Vermicomposting) Workshop

Melissa Rickey and Whitney Vanderleest are teaming up to teach two effective systems to get your soil life thriving.

In this workshop you will:

Learn how to build DIY worm composting systems that are so simple anyone can do it!

We will discuss a variety of different vermicompost set ups to find one that is a fit for your family.

Learn all about Bokashi, a method of fermenting your kitchen waste and accelerating the decomposition process.  You will learn how to make the bran inoculant for this process and  explore a variety of ways to use this product in soil building. You will leave with a bag of inoculant that is ready for you to get started right away.

Whitney Vanderleest is a passionate permaculture designer who is growing her business, New Branch Permaculture, from the ground up (literally).  Her focus is on improving soil fertility through the use of local resources, making biochar, worm farming and composting.

Melissa Rickey is an enthusiastic learner and explorer of permaculture.  She is always looking for ways to accelerate the process of generating organic matter to create and nourish healthy soil and healthy gardens.
