King Arthur was chosen as our play in a year when one of our main study themes was Medieval Times. Our script writer, Donna Bracewell, waded through countless tales and version upon version of each tale to select the twelve we present in this production. She took much liberty with the culture and morals of the times in rewriting many of the female characters to reflect an image of the kind of strong, independent young women we encourage our female students to be. Noble kings, brave knights; male and female, very singable music and lots of fun are woven throughout the play. This was definitely one of our productions that most engaged our student’s imaginations while teaching lessons for a better world. These are ancient tales for a modern time.
