Linnaea School provides financial support to approx. 1/3 of our students who otherwise might not be able to afford to attend the school. Every summer the school community puts together a great fundraiser to raise money for our bursary fund. This year's theme was 'The Magic of Rivendell'.
Jason once again performed his magic in the kitchen and, along with a hard working group of parents, pulled together an incredible Hobbit feast for our guests. The parent decorating crew turned the school into a magical fairy kingdom and an assortment of Linnaea students came in costume and character to add hobbits, trolls, fairies and wizards into the atmsophere. Beautiful music was provided by Hannu, Ali and Matt.
Part way through the evening, guests were led into the Tiber Bay Room by none other than Smaug and a talented group of drummers. Here they were treated to a performance of two scenes from our school play of 'The Hobbit'. A big thanks to Norleen for helping organize the kids and to Louise and Denise for generously volunteering their time with the choir.
A huge thanks goes to Mary for all of her hard work and time in putting togehter the event. Thanks to the generous support of our guests we raised over $16,000 for our bursary fund and helped to, once again, ensure that we never have to turn away a child due to lack of financial means.
THANKS EVERYONE!
