Late applications may be considered if space permits. Please answer thoroughly and thoughtfully. 2. Your age and gender
3. How did you hear about the program?
4. Past gardening experience
5. Academic background
6. Other areas of interest
7. Related work experience/skills
8. If accepted in the Programme, will you want to rent a room at the Farm?
9. The Farm has chickens, ducks, sheep, cows (beef ands dairy), horses, bees, and 30 acres of pasture. Would you like to participate in optional animal-related activities? Please note any specific interests.
10. What future use do you plan to make of your gardening skills?
It is important to establish a more personal profile of people who we may work with for eight months. So here are some candid questions for you to consider and answer when applying.
11. The brochure states that a benefit of the program is exposure to an alternative lifestyle. What does this mean to you and how important was this statement in your decision to apply? Explain your answer.
12. Living in a communal household for eight months can be challenging. If you plan to live on the farm what experiences and skills will you bring to this situation?.
13. Which of the following best describes your primary reason for wanting to learn more about organic gardening? Mark one or two answers only.
1. To grow my own food.
2. To grow healthy food to sell.
3. As a relaxing and fulfilling hobby.
4. To create beautiful gardens or landscapes.
5. To produce medicinal herbs.
6. Interest in some specific crop.
7. No, no, no it's.................................
Explain why you made the choices you did.
14. Farm work is traditionally hard physical work in hot sun or freezing cold with long hours, little pay, and no benefits. While we seldom work long hours in the garden programme, and we hope you see benefits beyond medical plans, much of this statement applies to work at Linnaea. Why do you want to involve yourself in this kind of lifestyle, and what experiences or attributes make you feel ready to take on this commitment?
15. What's your favorite vegetable and why? Give variety name if applicable.
16. Define efficiency in terms of gardening.
