Linnaea
Day to day decisions and responsibilities for Linnaea Farm lies in the hands of the resident stewards. The resident stewards are a diverse group of people with varying backgrounds and values. A belief in the principles of land trusting, a deep respect and love for the land of Linnaea Farm, and a belief in the purposes of the Linnaea Farm Society constitution provides the ongoing framework for their activities.
Haying, maintenance of farm equipment, milking and other farm activities, as well as the day to day organization of the farm and the operation of the Linnaea Farm Society projects are the responsibility of the resident stewards. There is an established and workable process for conducting meetings and making decisions. Decisions on land management and organization of the farm are made jointly at bi-weekly meetings of the resident stewards.
Several of the stewards have been on the land for ten years or more. Each adult is required to commit time and energy to the activities that support the aims and objectives of Linnaea Farm Society. This includes teaching, research, administration, farm operations management, and work with community projects involving Linnaea Farm. The vitality of the farm and the smooth operation of the Linnaea Farm Society projects are largely the result of the combined talents and energy of the resident stewards.
