The Linnaea Farm Society placed conservation covenants on Linnaea Farm, dividing the land into four different zones.
THE ZONESEach of the four zones provide a different type of protection to the land.
1.
Agriculture Zone (yellow on map)
Organic farming methods must be used in these areas.
2.
Forest Zones (light green)
Harvest of forest products must be sustainable.
3.
Protected Zones (dark green)
These spaces are free from human activity, except for limited trail use.
4.
Residential Zone (orange)
This is the least restrictive, allowing resident stewards to conduct activities necessary for home and farm maintenance while protecting the lakefront.

THE COVENANT HOLDERSThe covenants are held and monitored by
The Land Conservancy of BC and Quadra Island Conservancy and Stewardship Society. Linnaea Farm's relationship with Turtle Island Earth Stewards was extinguished in 1999 when title was transferred to the Linnaea Farm Society, which placed these covenants on the land.
